A foundation system
without a footing.
PEN Foundation transfers structural load not through bearing pressure on a footing base, but through distributed skin friction along a group of battered galvanised iron nails, anchored at the surface by a precast M50 concrete node. It is governed by IS 2911 Part 4. It installs in 10 to 20 minutes per unit, with no excavation, no formwork, no curing wait.
Engineered
top to tip.
M50 Concrete Node
Precast at the F1 factory. M50 grade. Receives the structural load from the column or post above, and transfers it to the GI pipe nails embedded inside it.
Battered GI Pipe Nails
Galvanised iron pipe, driven into the soil at a calculated batter angle. Multiple nails per node form a load-distributing group. Skin friction along their full embedded length carries the load.
Tungsten Carbide Tip
Hardened tip welded to each pipe nail. Lets the nail penetrate dense soil and weathered rock without deflection or excavation around it.
IS 2911 Part 4.
Not IS 6403.
PEN is a battered micropile group system. Its load transfer mechanism is skin friction along the nail shafts, not bearing pressure on a footing base. Designers should not apply conventional RCC footing area logic (Required Area = Factored Load ÷ Safe Bearing Capacity) to PEN. The governing standard is IS 2911 Part 4 for under-reamed and bored cast-in-situ piles, with batter and skin-friction provisions referenced.

- Field-validated Enhancement Factor: 2.76×
- Peak observed bearing pressure (MatterLab): 667 kN/m²
- Note: 667 kN/m² is the highest recorded value across all tests, not a design capacity. Design values are site-specific.
Bearing capacity is inherently site-specific. We do not quote a fixed load number without a site soil profile. Send us a borehole log or coordinates and we’ll produce a project-specific bearing report.
